Ron Paul Would Abolish the So-Called Patriot Act
I used to criticize people who opposed the Patriot Act, but had never even READ the Patriot Act.
Then I READ it.
Now I criticize people who SUPPORT the Patriot Act, but have never even READ the Patriot Act.
I debated with myself whether or not to use this video–due to some significant typos it contains–but I decided that some extremely revealing points it makes, outweigh any grammatical errors.
Here’s a story for the media . . . Ron Paul has vowed that if elected president, he will work to abolish the so-called “Patriot” Act, which, even in its second drafting, has made a mockery of our belief, that we really do still have a “Bill of Rights” in effect.
It is my firm conviction, that THIS IS ONE OF THE MAJOR REASONS MANY MEDIA OUTLETS ARE TRYING TO BURY RON PAUL! They have a vested ideological interest in the Patriot Act–their not-so-secret desire for social engineering (by force), which requires radical abridgment of civil liberties–and the bulk has LITTLE to do with terrorism. It is a well known, but little talked about, fact, that MOST elements contained in the Patriot Act, were developed LONG before 911, and most of these previously rejected civil-liberty-undermining proposals, were sitting on a shelf, just waiting for a convenient opportunity to slip them into legislation, when no one would be focused on the details.
The hysteria of 911 provided a perfect opportunity, for those who have felt all along that we enjoyed too much liberty and privacy, in order to achieve their particular vision of America.
