Fundraising Crunch Time
If you have been waiting for the "right time" to donate to the Ron Paul campaign, that time is NOW!!! Sept. 30th is the deadline for third quarter donations, and the significance of his resulting cash on hand cannot be emphasized enough.
As one blogger puts it, his total fundraising numbers at the end of the quarter will basically dictate two things: 1) Advertising in the early primary states, and most importantly, 2) The ability to continue to participate in the Republican debates.
Fair or not, this is how campaign success and candidate viability is defined by the media and by those hosting these debates. If you recall, it was the second quarter announcement that Ron Paul had more net cash on hand than John McCain, that propelled Congressman Paul to the increased success he is having today, and led John McCain's campaign to stagnate and forced him to make major staff cuts.
In Congressman Paul's own words, "... But the media, and everyone else, will be looking at fundraising totals at the end of this month. They'll judge us by how we do. And we need help to wage what we hope will be a full-scale, 50-state campaign. Please help me head into the next quarter fully armed to do battle for freedom, peace and prosperity. Make your most generous contribution. This Revolution is on the move, but it very much needs your support."
