Here Is Why Republicans Would Be Fools NOT To Nominate Ron Paul
Every Republican in line for the ‘08 presidential nomination–except for Paul–is a card carrying Neo CON (and by this, I mean they have no respect for the rule of law, as outlined in the Constitution and its Bill of Rights). This means that there will be more of the same with ANY of these candidates . . . the same distressing tyranny trend we’ve seen with Bush/Cheney.
Case in point: Al Gonzo was forced to resign as attorney general, partly because of partisan hiring decisions, but more importantly, because of the WARRANTLESS wiretapping fiasco. And who does Bush go and nominate to take his place??? None other, than the former judge and lawyer, who DEFENDED the abuses of our civil liberties IN THE FIRST PLACE!

As President Bush’s solicitor general, Mr. Olson defended the Patriot Act and the sweeping surveillance power it gave to the government, as well as excessively broad presidential authority over the fate of detainees in the war on terror.Read the full article: http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=621902&category=OPINION&newsdate=9/14/2007
Even some Republicans are acknowledging that Mr. Olson’s confirmation would be a difficult, if not doomed, ordeal. Other conservatives, though, are relishing the thought of such a battle anyway.
The Bush administration, meantime, is taking something of a middle course. “The nominee will have expertise in the law, a commitment to fighting crime, and an understanding of the threats we face today and the legal tools needed to combat those threats,” comes the word from the White House press office.

“TOOLS”=MASSIVE UNCONSTITUTIONAL DATA MINING AND PRIVACY INVASIONS OF INTERNET (more than just e-mail, which Bush always tries to focus on, in order to divert attention from their RAW WEB SNOOPING), PHONE, AND FINANCIAL records of innocent people around the world, PLUS Americans, which is all WE seem to care about (to our shame).
