A Day Of Reckoning Is Coming For POLLSTERS
A research group called up my house today, doing an election poll. They asked me questions about nearly every election issue imaginable (the president’s job approval, senatorial candidates, my Republican status, etc.), but they NEVER ONCE allowed me to say that I was pro Ron Paul!
No! Instead, they asked me which of the TOP TWO presidential candidates I would vote for right now–the Democratic or the Republican–they chose TWO names that I HAD to choose between! NICE! I chose neither, of course (though that wasn’t an acceptable answer), and then I quizzed them on why the poll was designed in such a way, as to give misleading high poll numbers to the PRESUMED front-runner candidates! They answered that they are simply asking the questions, which others have HIRED them to ask. Hmmm . . . I wonder who might have hired them to leave Ron Paul and others out of the poll?
I have always suspected that the national polls are naturally skewed, if not red-lined on purpose, by directing calls to specific demographics known to vote ‘consensus’. Here, today, I have seen some of the deceptive statistical games being played, with the presumed gullible American public, in order to INFLUENCE, rather than MEASURE, the national political sentiment, where it comes to the ‘08 presidential candidates.
Of course, this does not surprise ME any, since one of my majors in college was Psychology, which course of study required that I must take a class in statistical analysis. If anything has stuck with me from that class, it is just how easy it really is, to LIE, with any kind of statistical measurement! I’ve been a statistical cynic ever since, (and my cynicism has been vindicated repeatedly). You can essentially design ANY survey or poll to come up with almost ANY results that you are looking to get, if you are less than principled–you can just word the question in the right way, or selectively manipulate your sample; you can even lie, in the way that you finally PRESENT your results (see also HERE). You can also “FACTOR OUT” (it almost sounds like a Bill O’Reilly interview, doesn’t it?) any results that you don’t believe should be showing up in your measurement apparatus! This is the phenomenon we keep seeing over and over with Ron Paul! It has been done by the national GOP Straw Poll (they REMOVED PAUL for WINNING), and also in the debate polls (all of Ron Paul’s phenomenal numbers have been called into question, EVEN in Fox’s 33% win (see also HERE, HERE and HERE) where cell phone texters could NOT POSSIBLY call in their votes more than one time).
So why should it surprise us at all, that designers of polling questions are ALSO gaming RON PAUL out of their poll numbers??? Even if the polling companies are entirely reputable, that does NOT mean that the entities hiring them, and dictating their questions, as well as other polling variables, ARE! And formerly reputable polling companies are going to LOSE their good reputation when facts hit the fan!
It is easy to lie with statistics, but the bird has a way of coming home to roost, even in electoral coverage. It has happened before, so that now people famously DO NOT TRUST “exit polls” any longer, due to massive inconsistencies in the last couple of elections, between their touted results, and actual vote counts. Lie if you will, but sooner or later, your statistical lie is going to come back and bite you in the butt! Because the more evidence of the reality you’re trying to hide, mounts up, the more your deceptive tactics will cast a permanent shadow over your credentials, and over your reputations for empirical impartiality! The BEST you can hope for, is that your efforts at deception and suppression will thankfully turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy, thus CAUSING the results you were HOPING to get (by making the public buy into your lie, such as that Ron Paul hasn’t got a chance . . . so choose somebody else)! It’s NOT HAPPENING.
I’ve got NEWS for you! I KNOW Paul voters, and Ron Paul isn’t going ANYWHERE but UP! Just yesterday, turned out to be Paul’s highest grossing fund raising day thus far, and it is only going to increase, as we get the word out, no thanks to the biased media!
Not only that, but Ron Paul has single-handedly ignited, what some are calling a NEW CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT!

Unlike the racial turmoil during America’s period of segregation and the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, Paul’s message doesn’t evoke resistance from a large segment of the population; and it appears to be unifying people of various backgrounds.
“Freedom Unites People” Paul said during his limited speaking time at a previously televised debate. And that is evident at his events as people from all walks of life show up with home made signs chanting ‘Freedom’.
This 21st century Civil Rights movement is centered on just that, Freedom. Paul’s campaign is literally redefining Civil Rights to extend beyond racial issues of the past century to its original concept, individual civilian rights as outlined in the Bill of Rights.
Paul doesn’t couch sound bite phrases and platitudes like most of the other candidates running yet his message is still potent and to the point when he honestly tells reporters ‘We need to roll back the police state’ and that ‘It makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when our own front door is left unlocked.’ . . .
. . . The message of liberty is the driving force behind this developing Ron Paul juggernaut. It seems that Americans are just starting to respond to this wake up call from a 72 year old doctor that is also a congressman from Texas. . . .

I checked out the GOP online straw poll, and it is marginally less awful than it first appears. It is still possible to mark every single other candidate “unacceptable”.
