Ron Paul on Tavis Smiley–Is PBS the NEW NO-SPIN ZONE???
Here is an event to pencil in your date book . . .The ALL-AMERICAN REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL FORUM THURSDAY, September 27, 9-10:30 p.m. ET on PBS. . . because I have high hopes that this ONE presidential forum may ATTEMPT, at least, to give Ron Paul a fair hearing, and at least as fair a shot on their media as they dole out to any of the other candidates. That, is more than we have seen on ANY of the widely-broadcast candidate meetups thus far.
What has led me to HOPE for this?
Answer: A simple browse of the PBS web page advertising the event.
The page doesn’t say anything unusually positive about Ron Paul, but neither does it coronate any OTHER candidates prior to the forum (see HERE). What is refreshing about this web page, is not what it says about candidates, so much as what is conspicuously LACKING. Lacking, is the Neocon-media-style pre-debate arm-twisting of viewers/readers, in an attempt to manipulate and prejudice the public, against any candidate/s whom the network execs happen to fear.Unlike almost EVERY other media outlet, which has hosted presidential debates/forums/discussions in the past, this PBS program ALONE, has the look and feel of unbiased journalism, in the way they are presenting all of the presidential candidates on their web site: http://www.pbs.org/kcet/tavissmiley/special/forums/
FOX, ABC, and some others we know, could take a few notes on the un-spun, ”Fair and Balanced” treatment, given across the board to ALL candidates. Now, THERE’S a novel idea! Wonder who thought of THAT???
Is PBS the new “NO-SPIN ZONE”???
We’ll just have to watch and see, if this fair play on the web page translates over to the actual forum.
P.S. Smiley even shows Ron SMILING!
