Ron Paul Campaign Sets Huge 4th Quarter Goal: $12 Million

Fresh off a phenomenal $1.2 million dollar week of online fundraising to close out the third quarter, the Ron Paul campaign set an even more audacious goal for the fourth: twelve million dollars in three months.

The third quarter numbers haven't even been announced yet, but the new goal will certainly answer the question from George Stephanopoulos: Ron Paul is running to win. A twelve million dollar quarter would put Ron Paul squarely in the top tier in fundraising with Giuliani and Romney, and ensure that the mainstream media could no longer ignore his already top tier volunteer organization and grassroots support.

Replacing the one-week thermometer, a new Statue of Liberty graphic on RonPaul2008.com challenges supporters to raise four million dollars by the end of October, with similar goals on tap for November and December.

Ron Paul's skeptics might consider reaching the new goal unlikely, but if the average donation comes in around $200, just 60,000 donors would be needed by the end of the year. As Ron Paul clearly becomes a more viable and more visible contender, new supporters will be drawn into the campaign, making the goal that much more attainable.

If you've been waiting for a sign that the Ron Paul campaign is about more than adding new foreign policy ideas to the debates, or expanding the freedom movement, wait no longer. Ron Paul is a once-in-a-lifetime candidate, he is running to win, and he needs our full support to make that happen.
