One MORE Reason We Must Fight For RON PAUL
Here’s just one MORE reason we must fight hard for Ron Paul! To stop the widespread targeting of government critics, and the suppression of political dissent!
I found this despicable report on OpEdNews, which documents the fact that our FBI–under the present administration and the Patriot Act–is putting protesters of government policy onto an international criminal database!
Our right to free speech has been abridged in MANY ways, but the government (and our populous) is still at a place along this slippery slope to tyrrany, where it is yet embarrassed to admit to how FAR they HAVE really gone already, publicly.
But listen to one of the great legal eagles of our country describe the level to which we have already sunk, in secret, and just how MANY THOUSANDS of Americans are walking around with a DARK secret about the government that if they DARED to speak up about, would land them in JAIL FOR FIVE YEARS!!!

We have seen evidence in the past, that opposers of government policy have been unconstitutionally targeted during this reign of King George the W, by both federal and local secret police forces. How much would you bet, that there are also Ron Paul activists being targeted, as we speak (or as I write), in the name of “national security”?
I would encourage all activists of every stripe to publicize widely any forms of government harrassment, and to take legal action where possible. Someday, I will file my OWN Freedom of Information request, as soon as those who would suppress the truth are out of power–then I will consider retroactive legal action, depending on the provable results. I urge others to consider the same, to protect our rights to privacy and free speech. And mark my word, the temptations for this administration to use more of its unconstitutional, fear-gotten secret police powers, against the Ron Paul Revolution, will only increase, as Ron Paul’s popularity increases, and as his rise threatens many of the massive government programs, which so many in the government are now heavily invested in.

FBI Puts Antiwar Protesters on Criminal Database; Canada Uses It To Ban Protesters From Entry

Two well-respected US peace activists, CODEPINK and Global Exchange cofounder Medea Benjamin and retired Colonel and diplomat Ann Wright, were denied entry into Canada On October third. The two women were headed to Toronto to discuss peace and security issues at the invitation of the Toronto Stop the War Coalition. At the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Bridge they were detained, questioned and denied entry.
“In my case, the border guard pulled up a file showing that I had been arrested at the US Mission to the UN where, on International Women’s Day, a group of us had tried to deliver a peace petition signed by 152,000 women around the world,” says Benjamin. “For this, the Canadians labeled me a criminal and refused to allow me in the country.”
“The FBI’s placing of peace activists on an international criminal database is blatant political intimidation of US citizens opposed to Bush administration policies,” . . .

. . . what we’ve done, is give ourselves a government so powerful [since 911], that it has become the menace . . .EARLIER–THE KIND OF POWER THE JUDGE OF FOX NEWS IS TALKING ABOUT:
. . . You can’t give this kind of power to the government, because you never know what the government will do with it, or who in the government may have it . . .
. . . [the Patriot Act] also allows the government to do things that we were all raised thinking could never happen here. If you learned when you were in third grade, that the police can’t bang your door down in the middle of the night, you can’t go to jail before you’ve been tried before a judge and a jury, you’re entitled to a lawyer, that you can always say what you think, say what you want to say about the government, you learned the way the government was when you were in third grade. Third graders today can’t learn that, because the Patriot Act has given federal agents the right to write their own search warrants [NSL’s–National Security Letters], even though the constitution says only judges can issue search warrants. It’s allowed them to break into your house without you knowing about it, to plant a listening device in your bathroom, or your bedroom, or your kitchen, even. They can make it look like it was a third rate burgulary. So, even though the constitution says, “congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech”, if you tell anyone you’ve received a self-written search warrant, you can be prosecuted, and the punishment is five years in jail!
And if you receive a self-written search warrant, you can’t even tell a federal judge in a federal courtroom that you’ve been the target of this activity . . . [DAVID ALLEN breaks in: “REALLY???”] . . . This is the kind of laws that the east Germans made to authorize their agents, to strip east Germans of all sense of dignity, pride and individuality, to crush each one of them as if they were grapes, to form the wine of the state. And that’s basically what this does. It brings us back to a period in our history of before we were a country, when the British parliament, and the British monarch, George the Third, authorized British soldiers to write their own search warrants, and break down doors in the middle of the night.
What FBI agent is gonna go to a judge, and present the judge probable cause of a crime, which is what the 4th amendment requires, and ask the judge for a search warrant, if the agent now has the power to write his own search warrant??? That’s the reason that since the Patriot Act was enacted, the FBI has issued over 138,000 of these self-written search warrants, nearly 50% of which, had nothing to do with the “war on terror”, and over 25%, which weren’t even issued in accordance with the FBI’s own internal guidelines. Now, that’s where FBI agents just wrote out search warrants for whatever they wanted.
I mean we have really lost even the basic rudiments of privacy, which we had as recently as September 10, 2001!
