Paul Winner of Conservative Leadership Straw Poll

Presidential candidate Ron Paul has won the straw poll conducted at the Conservative Leadership Conference this weekend in northern Nevada. Paul finished with 33 percent of the vote, more than double his nearest contender, Mitt Romney.

Despite personally addressing the conference, Romney came in second with 16 percent of the vote. Duncan Hunter, who also spoke at the conference, came in third place with 15 percent. Over five hundred people attended the CLC Rightoberfest, which was held October 11-13 at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks, Nevada. Dr. Paul did not personally attend the conference, but the campaign rented a booth in the CLC exhibition hall that was run by enthusiastic local volunteers.
