Arlo for Ron

Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s campaign has been endorsed by legendary folk singer-songwriter Arlo Guthrie.

Guthrie, known for a series of hits including "Alice’s Restaurant," issued the following endorsement of Dr. Paul:

"I love this guy. Dr. Paul is the only candidate I know of who would have signed the Constitution of The United States had he been there. I'm with him, because he seems to be the only candidate who actually believes it has as much relevance today as it did a couple of hundred years ago. I look forward to the day when we can work out the differences we have with the same revolutionary vision and enthusiasm that is our American legacy."

SHOCKING! If You Had Confidence In Our Voting Process…

...then it is about to be shaken to its core!

Unbelievable revelations from NH!  This is about much more than Ron Paul, alone.  This is about whether or not citizens can have ANY confidence in official vote tallies, anywhere, or if our voting system is wide open to blatant criminal tampering with the electoral process (which stark evidence suggests may have happened)!  It is democracy-destroying organized crime at its EASIEST!

You will NOT believe your eyes or ears!  Just watch:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHL_YMBolRs

BTW, I have added whole objects to shipping packages, myself, by just opening a slit on the side (exactly as the video evidence of tampering suggests happened with the NH "sealed" vote boxes), when I had forgotten to insert something prior to labeling.  If I can add whole OBJECTS through those slits, then how EASY it would be to simply add and/or subtract paper ballots!  FISHY!  SHOCKING!

This story is about the very validity of our so-called democratic process, you need to alert media outlets about the fiasco in New Hampshire!

Please pass this on to others and...

Ron Paul’s Next Money Bomb: February 1st

Anyone who thought the Ron Paul campaign was over after Iowa and New Hampshire was taking their cues from the mainstream media, and not from political reality. A true long shot candidate needs a strong finish in the first two states to remain viable, but Ron Paul was no long shot -- he raised nearly twenty million dollars in the fourth quarter, signed up over 100,000 volunteers nationwide, and turned in some of his best debate performances of the campaign this January, as other candidates began dropping out.

Ron Paul's persistence has started to pay off, with two second place finishes in Nevada and Louisiana, a growing presence on the ground in all 50 states, over 13,000 precinct leaders recruited nationally, radio ads airing in Maine, Alabama, California, Colorado, Georgia, Minnesota and North Dakota, and sharp new TV ads running in Tennessee and Arkansas. While other campaigns are forced to target their dwindling resources in a few selected states, Ron Paul is widening his campaign in the lead up to February 5th.

Two successful money bombs, raising $4 million on November 5th and $6 million on December 16th, made much of this new national outreach possible, and a smaller money bomb of $1.85 million on January 21st helped keep the funding tank full, but all that air time costs a lot of money, and it's time to load up for one more big effort:

A February 1st money bomb to refill the campaign coffers, stun the national media just days before Super Tuesday, and let the other candidates know that Ron Paul's unmatched grassroots support remains solidly behind him for the long haul.

If you haven't participated in a money bomb before, now is your chance. If you have contributed in the past, now is the time for one last big statement. If you want Ron Paul to continue to smash expectations and to stay in the race until November, here's your chance to prove it to him.

Actually, there are a variety of ways to participate, at different donation levels, as several money bombs have merged into one. The big one is at FiftyOneYears.com, asking for a $51 pledge in honor of Ron and Carol Paul's 51st wedding anniversary. Or pledge as much as you want at the Paul Family Values site. If you have a little more cash on hand, and want to give $500 to protest the IRS, sign up at LibertyTax08.com.

If you want to tell the world that Fox News is unfair and unbalanced, join the list at FauxNewsMoneyBomb.com, and give as much as you want. If you want to help pay Ron Paul back for his hard work on behalf of the cause of liberty, contribute to his February 1st weekly paycheck at RonPaul'sPayday.com, five, ten, twenty-five, fifty, or one hundred dollars at a time. Wherever you sign up, remember to give only at the official campaign site.

Ron Paul's money bombs have proven their effectiveness time and again, accounting for more than $12 million of the campaign's total donations, according to the original money bomb site, RonPaulMoneyBomb.com. This grassroots powered phenomenon has been unmatched by any other candidate, although many have tried. The nine biggest fundraising days of the campaign have all been the direct result of money bombs, mini-money bombs, or money bomb "echoes" on the days after a big money bomb:

Date Amount Donors Event
Dec. 16th $6,043,023 59,170 Tea Party '07
Nov. 5th $3,994,714 38,905 This November 5th
Jan. 21st $1,850,161 24,430 Free at Last
Nov. 30th $531,439 6,780 Rudy's Reading List
Nov. 6th $389,344 4,820 Nov. 5th echo
Dec. 31st $387,954 4,829 Donate2008
Dec. 17th $309,816 4,055 Tea Party echo
Nov. 20th $250,347 2,853 Beat Huckabee
Nov. 11th $233,527 3,292 Veterans Day

Let's make February 1st another historic money bomb, and shake up the presidential race once more, four days before 21 states vote on Super Tuesday.

Message from Ron

When I started this campaign more than a year ago, I was a somewhat reluctant candidate. I knew our message of freedom, peace, and prosperity was the right one for our country, but frankly, I didn't know how many people today would have ears to hear it.

Well, did I learn a lesson! Millions of Americans understand what ails our country, and what is needed to fix it. So, with you at my side, I am in this effort to win. Not only by building the ideas of liberty, but by getting the nomination. Our opponents would call that nuts -- you know, the advocates of more inflation, more spending, more taxes, more war. But let me explain why they are, as usual, all wet.

For one thing, for the first time since 1952, we are headed towards a brokered convention. Instead of a coronation of one of the establishment candidates, the delegates, influenced by the people, will decide. And I am afraid that this will take place in a time of heightened economic crisis. That means even more Americans will be ready to hear our message. But it also means I am really going to need your help.

One would never know this from the mainstream media, but we've only had a few primaries and caucuses, and even after the extremely important date of February 5th, we will still have more than half to go. And the Republican nominee will not be decided by the popular vote among the "leading candidates" in a few states also handpicked by the media. The nominee will be decided by the delegates. So let me tell you a little about our "under-the-radar" strategy to get those delegates.

On "Super Tuesday," February 5th, there will be 22 primaries and caucuses. I have a hunch that we're going to do very well. But, of course, the media and the rest of the establishment refuse to recognize that. It's the attitude of the small child who covers his eyes to make something scary go away. But we are not going away.

While the media focus on the couple of states they claim are important, we're competing everywhere. And the reason that we're able to do that is because of your grassroots support. You all are an asset that no other campaign has: donors, and activists who want no special deals from the government, just the Constitution.

We're competing very strongly in all the caucus states, and in all other states where delegates are up for grabs. And we're going to keep picking up delegates. Our strategy's already working.

And we're committed to winning states. I have little doubt that if we can double our efforts in this coming week, we're going to grab many delegates from other candidates. Then we'll start getting ready for the biggest moment of all - the convention in September.

The path to the convention is twisty, however. When we were in Iowa, we got 10% of the vote. But no delegates were awarded that night. That's because voters didn't directly choose national convention delegates; they selected the county and state delegates who will make that decision. And if another candidate like Mike Huckabee is no longer in the race at the time of the state convention in June, his delegates are free to support whomever they want. If we work extra hard, we can convert them into delegates for our campaign!

A similar thing happened in Nevada. We won 14% of the straw poll vote that the media reported on, but what they didn't tell you was that we may have gotten up to a third of Nevada's delegates to their county conventions! I always laughed when I heard some people say Nevada didn't matter. Nevada chooses more delegates to the national convention than South Carolina.

So, while the media will focus on the results from Florida, and probably take down the campaign of my friend Rudy in the process, those results are less important to you and me. Let them fight in Florida while we bring our message to Americans in other areas, like the economically hard-hit state of Maine.

We want to win as many delegates to the Republican National Convention as possible, even if other campaigns don't see some areas of the country as "important. But in this work, I need your help. Help me get many, many delegates to this historic convention, by these three methods.

1. Donate. Your generous contributions are essential if we're going to keep going until September. We need, frankly $5 million by February 5 to run more TV and radio ads in the Super Tuesday states. Your help means everything: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate.

2. Canvass. You can help us identify those who support our message in your precinct. You can help us to convert others, too. After all, your neighbors pay attention to you. I am going to visit as much of the country as I can, but I need you as my partner in your area: https://voters.ronpaul2008.com.

3. ASK others to sign-up on our website. I meet so many people on the campaign trail who don't even receive my letters! I've told my campaign to make communication with you, the engine of all this, much better. But if people don't sign up for my e-mails, that won't happen. If you could just get one extra person to sign-up, that would be great. More would be tremendous.

Help me by forwarding this e-mail to every other Ron Paul supporter you know, and urging them to join our efforts! https://www.ronpaul2008.com/join.

We've come so far, but now the fun is really starting! I have a feeling the mainstream media will move from ignoring us to attacking us. But that will be a sign of our success. Join me as we continue this great movement into year two, and to a hot convention in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. We can do it!

Sincerely,

Ron

Hey Bombies! It’s Another Bomb! FEB 1 FED 0

Another bomb is dropping on the first of February, and it's all about family values; Ron Paul's family values!  In honor of Ron and Carol's fifty-first wedding celebration (now-a-days that deserves a "WOW!!!") we are being asked to each donate at least $51 to the rEVOLution on the day of their amazing anniversary.

Please give all you can, because the present government is pulling strings--illegally (just look what the feds did to the maker of the Ron Paul dollar--when they were just about to deliver the Ron Paul coppers--and mark my word, that's not all they've been doing behind the scenes against Ron Paul and his followers)--to squelch our message of Life and Liberty.  They won't give liberty any breaks, nor will the miserable media monopoly, nor any of the one-world-government crowd, who stand to lose their fascist strangle-hold of absolute control over what they view as the mindless masses!  Whatever breaks we get, will be from God and from individuals like you, who love liberty so much, that you WILL NOT GIVE UP ON RON PAUL NO MATTER WHAT!

Don't give up the good fight!  We will WIN if we go the distance without letting up!  RIGHT is on our side, CONSTITUTIONAL CORRUPTION and MEGALOMANIA are the hallmarks of our big government opponents--every last one of them wants to practically control your every move!  Some lean left, some lean right, but NONE lean toward LEAN government!  Some want to control your money and property for you, while others want to install cameras (or other means of "harvesting information") into every crevice of your life, so that big brother can keep you down...um...I meant under control--like the gestapo!  Many want to do BOTH, and the more invasion, the better; they come up with every imaginable plausible excuse for why the government MUST "monitor" everything, everywhere, because the world is such a dangerous place (hmmm, I wonder why they try to keep fear whipped up?); there are so many "bad guys" "out there"!

Do you REALLY buy it???  When did the world suddenly become so much more dangerous than it has already been for more than a century???  And when did the presence of a few "bad guys" "out there" render the Bill of Rights null and void???  Yes, there IS a much worse danger arising, than we've seen in a long while, but it isn't that there are more "bad guys" (though media obsession would GIVE you that impression), it is the looming threat of "BIG BAD GUY BIG GOVERNMENT CONTROL"!

If you feel good about ceding all of your personal rights, property and privacy over to an anonymous GOVERNMENT control (where will it stop?); if you don't mind losing your sacred "self", to become a manipulated cookie-cutter cog in a globalist regime, then by all means bow out now, and let this election just take its course.  But if you have a shred of self-respect left, you've GOT to fight for Paul!  You've GOT to join the battle in the thick, when the going is hard, to lend a hand to valiant warriors whose arms grow tired!  Don't sit on the sidelines--YOU ARE NEEDED!

I KNOW that there are many out there who have not yet begun to fight for Ron Paul.  What are you waiting for???  NOW is the time!

Here's the money bomb info you need, but also, please go to www.RonPaul2008.com  and sign up as a volunteer, so that you can be counted in the active fray!

Ron Paul’s Chances on February 5th

Even though barely 5% of the delegates to the Republican national convention have been determined, the mainstream media has tried to frame it as a McCain vs. Romney contest, with Huckabee and Giuliani holding on, and Ron Paul trailing the field. This despite the fact that Ron Paul has significantly out-polled Giuliani at the ballot box, that his campaign is in much better financial shape than Huckabee's, that unlike the other candidates he has tens of thousands of grassroots volunteers, and that he already has two second places finishes, in Nevada and Louisiana.

Everything that has happened so far is just a warm up, compared to the 21-state Super Tuesday showdown on February 5th. As the voters begin to pay more attention to the race, Ron Paul's volunteer army will have to work hard to counteract the mainstream media spin, but as the voters take a closer look at the remaining candidates, Ron Paul will look better and better to them. Why settle for a quasi-conservative like McCain, Romney, Huckabee, or Giuliani, when you can vote for the real thing in Ron Paul? This contrast is even more striking with the recent departure of Fred Thompson from the race.

A better informed electorate works in Ron Paul's favor. The recent focus on our struggling economy does too. Ron Paul's recent endorsements from Don Luskin and Peter Schiff, two high profile financial advisers who have also joined his campaign, strengthens his credibility on economic matters with undecided voters. Strong showings in the Hawaii and Maine caucuses, which the grassroots network is working toward behind the scenes, will provide another boost. Even if Ron Paul can't top his current poll numbers in Florida, he may still gain from the primary results, if either Giuliani or Huckabee call it quits afterward.

Throw in a new money bomb on February 1st, and Ron Paul could have some serious momentum going into Super Tuesday. But even with a well-funded campaign and a well-staffed volunteer ground team, Ron Paul will have to pick his battles on February 5th for maximum impact. Where to focus the campaign's resources and volunteer energy is an important question, and one worthy of serious thought. The answers will depend on where the message of freedom might best be received, where the volunteer support is already strong, and where the delegate allocation rules provide the maximum payoff.

So far, the campaign has started airing radio ads in the Super Tuesday states of Alabama, California, Colorado, Georgia and North Dakota. Alabama makes a lot of sense -- they have an open primary, Ron Paul has fared well in straw polls there, and it is winner-take-all per district, meaning a focused effort could produce delegates, even without a statewide win. California has similar delegate selection rules, over 10,000 Meetup volunteers in over 100 groups, and has been a major source of campaign funding.

Colorado features a low-turnout caucus (think Nevada and Louisiana), a libertarian leaning culture, and even more Meetup members per capita than California. Ron Paul is polling in double digits already in Georgia, which has an open primary and is winner-take-all per district. North Dakota may seem an unlikely choice, but has a low-turnout caucus, is getting negligible attention from other campaigns, and awards 26 delegates to the statewide winner.

What other states make the most sense to focus on? The list should start with Minnesota, which features an open caucus, and has a history of voting for independent candidates like former governor Jesse Ventura. Tennessee also deserves special attention, with Thompson out of the race. The Volunteer State boasts over 3,000 Meetup volunteers, nearly one for every 2,000 residents, among the highest rates in the nation. Tennessee holds an open primary and awards delegates proportionately per district. Massachusetts has similar rules, and may deserve consideration, even though it is Mitt Romney's most recent home state.

What other states hold promise for the best results for Ron Paul on February 5th? Looking at Meetup volunteers per capita, Montana and Alaska are at the very top of the list, ahead of even Tennessee. Alaska holds a low-turnout caucus, and Montana runs a convention system similar to Wyoming's, but with greater opportunities for new activists to get involved. West Virginia's state convention has already been targeted by the Ron Paul Revolution, and may report the day's first positive results, making ABC's coverage plan look as biased as Fox News on a bad day.

What states does that leave out? Hopefully none of them, as precinct leaders and Meetup volunteers nationwide give Ron Paul an unmatched advantage in what is essentially a national primary day. The other states holding primaries or caucuses on February 5th are Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, and Utah. Of these, Arkansas, Illinois, and Oklahoma offer the best odds of gaining delegates, since the other states are winner-take-all. Illinois features direct delegate elections, which could make things interesting.

Good luck to all Ron Paul supporters in the February 5th states, and keep up the great work. Here's hoping that Florida, Hawaii, and Maine make us proud as well.

Ron Paul Campaign Announces Two Additions to Leadership Team

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 26, 2008

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – The Ron Paul Presidential Campaign today announced two key additions. John Tate is now national political director and Mark Elam has joined the team as national media director.

John Tate is a 25-year veteran of Republican politics. He has worked on dozens of local, state and national campaigns, was a key organizer in Pat Robertson’s 1988 presidential bid, and ran for Congress in 1996. Mr. Tate was instrumental in the Paul campaign’s top tier finishes in Nevada and Louisiana.

Mark Elam is a veteran Texas political consultant and a long-time aid to Dr. Paul. Mr. Elam serves as campaign manager to Dr. Paul’s congressional re-election campaign.  In 1996, Mr. Elam directed Dr. Paul’s historic victory over Democrat-turned Republican Greg Laughlin in the district 14 congressional race.

“John Tate and Mark Elam bring tremendous leadership and expertise to our campaign,” said Dr. Paul. “Their addition to our management team will help catapult us to even greater heights of success.”

Ron Paul’s Pipe Dreams

Many liberals like Ron Paul for his consistent opposition to the Iraq war and for his strong defense of civil liberties. Many conservatives like Ron Paul for his unquestioned fiscal conservatism and his time-tested Constitutional purity. Yet in both groups, many voters who agree strongly with Ron Paul on issues important to them dismiss his chances of effecting the changes he calls for, calling them "pipe dreams."

Sure, it would be nice to repeal the income tax and abolish the IRS, small-government conservatives insist, but "it'll never happen." Yes, Ron Paul would like to repeal the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act, progressives admit, but how will he get Congress to go along? According to his otherwise admiring critics, he won't be able to cut government spending as much as he plans to, to restore the Bill of Rights in its entirety, or to end the dollar's slide and reestablish sound monetary policies.

Skepticism toward campaign promises and political goals is always a good policy, but abandoning a candidate who agrees with you on your key issues is not. Simply because Ron Paul wants to accomplish more than you think he could deliver, why vote for someone else who isn't even trying?

If Ron Paul falls short of his goal of cutting spending enough to repeal the income tax, we'll still be far better off than if another candidate takes office and doesn't try at all. Without the individual income tax, federal revenues would only be cut back to 1997 levels. Was the government too small ten years ago? If Ron Paul can only cut spending by 20%, instead of the 40% or so that would be necessary, would you turn down a 50% tax cut? If Ron Paul really falls short, and only cuts spending by 5%, aren't we still a lot better off than if another candidate takes office and increases spending by 5 to 10% every year?

Even Ron Paul admits that abolishing the Federal Reserve overnight is unlikely to happen. He wants to legalize competition with commodity-based currencies, to keep the Fed on its toes. His fiscal policies -- lower spending, balanced budgets, and no new debt -- in themselves would help to reduce some of the Fed's counterproductive meddling in our economy. Again, if Ron Paul can only reduce inflation to a small degree, isn't that a big improvement over some other candidate making inflation worse?

As for civil liberties, Ron Paul as President could make major improvements, even without the consent of Congress. He wouldn't be calling for new government surveillance programs, and would veto any attempts to renew past legislation that violates the Bill of Rights. He could unilaterally call off any secret arrests, torture, and renditioning being conducted by the Executive branch. He could instruct the Justice Department to give all suspected criminals full due process of law. If you care about civil liberties, why vote for a candidate who does not?

And last but not least, Ron Paul's foreign policy prescription is anything but a "pipe dream." As Commander in Chief, he could order the immediate withdrawal of all US forces from Iraq. He could order the US Navy to leave the Iranian coast and return home, diminishing the risk of another unneeded war. He could end the nonsensical and failed boycott of Cuba, allowing free trade and travel with one of our closest neighbors. He could begin bringing troops home from around the world, and announce that he is open to peaceful dialogue with all nations, saving American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars and strengthening our national defense. Would any other candidate do any of the above?

Ron Paul is indeed promising a "revolution" -- a new fiscal policy, a new monetary policy, a more restrained central government, and a new foreign policy. The likelihood that he will be unable to accomplish everything he sets out to do should not diminish anyone's enthusiasm for supporting him in the least. If everyone else is headed in the wrong direction, why not join the one candidate who is trying to turn things around?
