This Candidate Doesn’t Quit

A few news sources are misreporting Ron Paul’s e-mail from last night. The presidential campaign is not ending, not being suspended, and not even drawing down. It’s slimming down and ramping up — with over twenty states having already voted, we’ve shed staff, and we’re concentrating financial and organization resources on the remaining states. We’re going to the convention, and we’re fighting for every vote and every National Delegate along the way.

Republicans do not want John McCain to be their nominee. He has only been able to become the front-runner because the field was so divided and because he’s a media darling. We can see just how unpopular McCain is in the heartland by his performance in the Kansas caucuses today. Kansans resoundingly rejected the Arizona senator, and McCain’s big wins so far have mostly been in blue states — states he won’t win in November if, heaven forbid, he’s the Republican nominee.

Republicans want and need an alternative. Some people think Mike Huckabee provides an alternative to McCain. But Huckabee, who now tries to sound like Ron Paul when he talks about abolishing the IRS, raised taxes in Arkansas and vastly expanded spending in that state when he was its governor. Huckabee is no alternative at all. Ron Paul, on the other hand, has never voted for a tax increase, never voted for an unbalanced budget or for an unconstitutional war or government program.

At stake here is not just the Republican nomination — which McCain still has not locked up — but the future of the Republican Party and, much more importantly, the future of our liberties. We have to organize in every single state, including the ones that have already voted in the primaries and caucuses, to continue the fight to take back the Republican Party and to ensure that Ron Paul’s principles, the principles of Washington and Jefferson, prevail. For the sake of that cause, Ron Paul’s campaign continues, all the way to the convention.

To the trenches, troops!  COURAGE!

UPDATE: News from the Ron Paul Forums indicates that Ron Paul may have WON the Washington caucuses today. Official results show 13% of the delegates listed as uncommitted, but many of these may have been Ron Paul supporters who listed no preference on their caucus sign-in sheets. If this is the case, we should know by February 19th, when 18 of Washington's 40 national convention delegates are selected at the state convention.


Ron Paul showed once again the strength of his grassroots organization, winning 21% of the vote in Washington and 11% in Kansas in Republican caucuses held today. The strong showings by Dr. Paul came just one day after an email to supporters ruling out a third party run and stressing the importance of retaining his Congressional seat, while continuing his Republican presidential bid until the national convention.

He didn't fare as well in the Louisiana presidential preference primary, earning just 5% of the vote, but due to state party rules, none of Louisiana's delegates will be determined by the primary, since none of the candidates received a majority of the vote. With 100% of the vote in, Mike Huckabee won with 43% and John McCain finished second with 42%. Mitt Romney earned 7% of the vote, despite officially suspending his campaign earlier this week.

Louisiana's delegates will be selected at the state convention on February 16th, by the district delegates elected in the caucuses on January 22nd. The majority of those delegates belong to an unpledged "Pro Life/Pro Family" slate, with Ron Paul officially finishing second to John McCain in pledged delegates, but protesting the results due to several irregularities in the proceedings.

Kansas had 36 of its 39 national delegates at stake today, and it appears that all 36 will go to Mike Huckabee, who won handily with 60% of the vote, to 24% for McCain, 11% for Paul, and 3% for Romney. The other 3 belong to state party leaders.

Washington had 18 of its 40 delegates at stake today, to eventually be determined at the state convention on May 30th. With 87% of the vote counted, John McCain was leading in Washington at 26%, followed by Huckabee at 24%, Paul at 21%, and Romney at 16%, with the remaining 13% uncommitted. 19 more Washington delegates will be determined in the state primary on February 19th. As usual, state party leaders make up the other 3 delegates.

The day's results had to be an embarrassment to the McCain campaign, as he earned only a quarter of the vote in Kansas and Washington, despite being declared the presumptive nominee by the national media, and earned no delegates in Kansas or Louisiana. Mike Huckabee continues to cling to hope of keeping McCain from locking up the nomination before the convention, although he would have to continue winning in the remaining contests, and winning big, for that to happen.

This has been an eye-opening election season--eye-popping--in exposing the election-ary corruption taking place behind the scenes, the organized crime mentality truly gripping Washington, our present government and his secret gestapo-like agents, the rush to surrender liberties in favor of handouts, power and empire, the collusion of corp-stream media to black out candidates (now still running) in favor of those who aren't even around any longer, and the UTTER HATE exhibited by the Republican party toward the only candidate running on a platform of true historic conservative principles!

The crime bosses running the behind-the-scenes conspiratorial operation, which has been shafting Ron Paul and his call to return to liberty, have clearly NOT gotten the message, yet, that WE WILL NOT TAKE IT ANY MORE!

So I urge you, my fellow Ron Paulites, to PLEASE REFUSE TO TRANSFER YOUR VOTE TO ANY OTHER SOUL, EXCEPT FOR RON PAUL!  Write him in, if necessary!

THIS ALONE WILL SEND OUR MESSAGE LOUD AND CLEAR TO THE TYRANTS USURPING OUR GOVERNMENT, and THIS ALONE will make the so-called establishment take Ron Paul dead serious!

PLEASE DON'T QUIT, EITHER!  DON'T SCALE BACK YOUR EFFORTS!  YOU are the campaign!  THE BATTLE ISN'T OVER!  IF WE EVEN SUPPOSE SUCH FOR ONE MINUTE, THEN WE HAVE CEDED AND CREATED A SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY!

GO FOR THE NOMINATION!  Win the nomination for Ron Paul.  BUT!  If he doesn't get the nomination, then finally URGE him to change his mind about third party in the end!  If he FINALLY won't run third party, then PLEASE join me in a vow--a movement--to vote ONLY for Ron Paul, no matter what!  Spearhead a final write-in campaign, and make our political enemies tremble at its effect!  Ron Paul is attractive to voters on the right AND on the left, for different reasons, and this is as likely to send a message to Democrats, as to Republicans.

Liberty Dollar Set to DOUBLE+

BINGO!!! Yesterday, February 7. 2008, the 30 day moving average (30DMA) for silver closed at exactly $16.00 for the first time…. And catapulted the Liberty Dollar into the 45 day slot to Move Up to the new $50 SILVER BASE!

Buckle UP! Silver is going to the moon and we want you all to come along. This is without a doubt - the third most important event for the little currency that could… Of course the first was its birth on October 1, 1998 and second was its serendipitous Move Up to the $20 Silver Base on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2005.

When the Liberty Dollar Moved Up to the $20 Silver Base all Liberty Dollars DOUBLED. Now, when the 30DMA for silver stays over $16 for 45 consecutive calendar days the Liberty Dollar will Move Up to the $50 Silver Base and all Liberty Dollars that you have will increase TWO AND HALF TIMES!!

Now for the mechanics: It would be beneficial for you to understand that time is a critical factor when designing or even considering money. Just as $20 today does not buy the same twenty gallons of gas as it did ten years ago, I incorporated time into the Liberty Dollar model twice. First by using the 30DMA instead of silver spot rate and second by lengthening the time the 30DMA must be maintained to Move Up to each new Silver Base. Whereas the Move Up to the $20 Silver Base was achieved after the 30DMA was maintained for 30 days, the Move Up to the $50 Silver Base now requires 45 days. The Move Up to the $100 requires 60 days and an additional 15 days per each Move Up.

As the Move Up point is so important, the Liberty Dollar uses an independent, third party source for its 30DMA. This definitive information is readily available, total transparent and easily verifiable by everyone. The 30DMA is one of the econometric stability-inducing features that protect the Liberty Dollar from the erratic actions of free market silver. And on the technical side, please note the Commentary on page one that states: "Silver's outlook is more bullish than gold's as it didn't break its short-term up trend and most studies have yet to turn outright bearish. In addition, open interest has increased, which implies that the market remains somewhat confident on further upside in silver. Support comes in at the upward trend line of $16.44, while resistance comes in at intraday congestion of $16.93." (Please note that both figures are well over the $16 Move Up point.)

Do you want to 2.5XY$? Get some Liberty Dollars… BEFORE it Moves Up. The last day may be Friday March 21 at 5:00 PM CST... as the Office will be closed on Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Remember: Doesn't it just make sense that when the underlying commodity that backs the currency increases in value, shouldn't the purchasing power of that currency also increase in value? Of course. And isn't that the essence of an "inflation proof" currency? Absolutely! So what are We The People supposed to do? PROTECT YOUR PURCHASING POWER! Don't sit around and watch your nest egg, retirement funds, college saving account, or even your weekly allowance disappear. You have no obligation to go broke to save the country, or the government money that is ripping you off!

Sure buying silver is the best thing possible. Yes, it is much better than gold. Sure it will be good for you and your family. But it will do nothing for our great country. (CNN) — It's perhaps the most Shermanesque statement Ron Paul has ever issued concerning the potential he'll run as a third party candidate. "I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican," Paul wrote in a letter to supporters posted on his Web site. [...]

Ron Paul has announced that he is scaling down his campaign and, has absolutely ruled out a third-party Presidential run. He plans to focus on his reelection to Congress. He faces a March 4 primary challenge in his home district.

For the first time, Paul left no wiggle-room in addressing the third-party question:

Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties – just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.

Thank you, Dr. Paul, for a great effort.

Whoa! What a year this has been. And what achievements we have had. If I may quote Trotsky of all people, this Revolution is permanent. It will not end at the Republican convention. It will not end in November. It will not end until we have won the great battle on which we have embarked. Not because of me, but because of you. Let me tell you my thoughts. With Romney gone, the chances of a brokered convention are nearly zero. But that does not affect my determination to fight on, in every caucus and primary remaining, and at the convention for our ideas, with just as many delegates as I can get. But with so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter. Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties -- just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.

I also have another priority. I have constituents in my home district that I must serve. I cannot and will not let them down. And I have another battle I must face here as well. If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen.

In the presidential race and the congressional race, I need your support, as always. And I have plans to continue fighting for our ideas in politics and education that I will share with you when I can, for I will need you at my side. In the meantime, onward and upward! The neocons, the warmongers, the socialists, the advocates of inflation will be hearing much from you and me.
