Ron Paul National Delegate Count Now 42 or More

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 6, 2008

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – With the results of many of the “Super Tuesday” primaries and caucuses now finalized, the Ron Paul campaign is now projecting that it has at least 42 delegates to the national convention secured.

While much of the focus in yesterday’s Super Tuesday contests focused on preference poll numbers, Ron Paul caucus-goers were focused on securing delegates to the national convention.  With dedicated supporters and an organization focused purely on securing delegates, the campaign has secured more delegates to the national convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul than caucus straw polls might otherwise suggest.

According to campaign projections, a minimum of 24 delegates were won in yesterday’s contests.  When added to projected delegates coming from strong showings in Iowa (4), Nevada (8), Louisiana (3) and Maine (3), that brings the total delegate count to 42 delegates or more.

“Our goal has always been to walk into the national GOP convention with as many delegates as possible,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign manager Lew Moore.  “The number of delegates we won yesterday could very well be the difference in a Convention where no one has a first-ballot majority.  With Dr. Paul’s home state of Texas coming up, we feel we can enter the convention with a substantial number of delegates.”

In an agreement first reported by West Virginia television station WSAZ, three Ron Paul delegates were secured through an agreement with the Mike Huckabee campaign at the West Virginia state convention early Tuesday.  Ron Paul delegates to the state convention swung their sizable support to Huckabee – putting Huckabee over the top – in exchange for the delegates.

According to campaign projections from last night’s results at least 3 delegates were won in Alaska, 5 delegates were won in North Dakota, 9 delegates were won in Minnesota, and 4 delegates were won in Colorado.

Additionally the results of the Louisiana Caucus may still change in favor of Ron Paul, where an ongoing legal challenge may result in most of that state’s delegates going towards Ron Paul after state GOP officials violated their own rules to improperly put delegates from other campaigns on the ballots.

Ron Paul Endorsed Candidates–A NEW MARK OF HONOR AND PRESTIGE

Expanding the Ron Paul movement to the U.S. House and Senate.

Posted: 06 Feb 2008 11:29 PM CST

Our government consists of three major branches. Each of them are bound with the task of keeping the other in line and in accordance with the constitution. Today all three branches have failed at this task in one way or another. The difficult truth is that fixing just one branch of our government will not solve our nation’s problems.

As the promise of Ron Paul’s 2008 Presidential election draws near, another opportunity also presents itself: the congressional elections. If we are going to be a movement, stronger and more likely to succeed than any one man or any one political race’s outcome, then we must seize all opportunities to fix our government. Ignoring this year’s congressional elections, at a time when our country needs real change more than ever before, is not a mistake we can afford.

To help us start our reclamation of congress, Ron Paul has endorsed two candidates for the upcoming elections. Murray Sabrin is running for the United States Senate in New Jersey, and Jim Forsythe is running for the House of Representatives in New Hampshire. Now we have two additional opportunities to send a message to Washington.

These candidates need our help. We have shown when we act together we can accomplish incredible things. Let’s prove that the message of liberty will bring us together not just once, but again and again, until the calls of her distress are silenced forever.

Please visit Murray Sabrin’s fund raising pledge site ScholarOfFreedom.com

and Jim Forsythe’s pledge site at FlyToFreedom.com

and confirm your commitment to restoring honor, integrity and the constitution to the United States government.

Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it.” - George Bernard Shaw

Posted: 05 Feb 2008 09:17 AM CST

No one can know the outcome of this years presidential election, but we do know that congressmen Ron Paul has a neo-con rival aiming to take his congressional seat.

Congressman Ron Paul must raise $400,000 by the 9th of February to assure he has the funds needed for victory in the Republican primary. Once he secures the Republican nomination his congressional race will go uncontested. Over $100,000 has already been raise but more is still needed.

There are now anecdotal reports on other Web sites that voting machines were not delivered on time throughout Los Angeles. Because Los Angeles has a very heavy ethnic population, such tactics are of great concern. Unless they plan to count by hand at the polling place -- and they do not -- these tactics serve to centralize vote counting and introduce beastly new chain of custody and procedural issues.

Los Angeles has an especially heavy ethnic component to its voting population, which may affect one candidate disproportionately.

Bev, I just voted in Ramona (San Diego county). It was
a paper ballot which was put directly into a box via
the slit on the side. I had seen your video on the
seal used on the boxes and went over to the box after
my ballot was placed in there and easily peeled down
the seal to the horror of the workers there. It is
indeed a post-it note seal! What a joke!

Wait a minute - San Diego uses Diebold optical
scanners, doesn't it? Or did San Diego go to central
count? This stinks to high heaven -- between
Sacramento ("testing inconsistencies in op-scan
causing them to bring ballots in for central count),
Los Angeles (machines 'not working' and 'not delivered
on time' causing them to put ballots in boxes for
central count), and now San Diego reports (putting it
in a ballot box, not running it through a scanner at
the polling place) -- It sounds like California is
going to be one big central count game.

Which means every bit of what we just did in New
Hampshire applies directly to everyplace in California
where they start toting ballots around tonight.

And they're using the Post-It seals.

Now check this out: Polling place ballot box secured
only by a paper clip (paper clip is stuck into a
yellow thing) - and it's sitting within arm's reach by
a poll worker's feet.

I registered a complaint with the California Secretary of State's voter fraud department and she said there have been complaints from throughout the state. Let's see what happens. I hope the MSM does not start projeting (sic) the winners in California. This State is a MESS!

Yep, they called it already. The media likes to call the race before all the numbers are in, then say they're all done reporting as the glitches and mismatched reconciliations arrive.

Subject: Eye witness report of ballot stuffing in
Colo. caucus

COLORADO - I just interviewed a gentleman in Boulder,
Colorado who provided a detailed report. He was one of
the caucus officials (chairman? captain? not sure of
the lingo). They hand counted the ballots and the two
elderly ladies counted them wrong. He corrected them.
He carefully wrote down the correct information. While
he was doing this, one of the elderly ladies was
grabbing at the envelope; she ultimately did take the
envelope and hurry away with it.

She then dropped the envelope and as she was picking
it up, the gentleman I interviewed (who does have a
name, which I'll release with his permission when he
signs an affidavit) -- anyway, he witnessed her take a
ballot (which he had NOT seen fall out of the
envelope) and put it into the envelope. He noticed
that, while all the ballots were folded, this one was
not folded.

She stated that she was bringing the envelope to where
the Republicans were putting all the ballots together.
He asked her where this would be, so he could go there
too. She said she might "stop at her home" on the way.

He called me initially, quite shaken, trying to learn
where the Boulder County Republicans were convening. I
do not know.

The miscounts were against Ron Paul. The extra ballot
inserted was for Romney. He expressed amazement that
these two seemingly nice elderly ladies were involved
in cheating, both on the count and, the one lady, with
the ballot stuffing. I should mention that the
attendance in his precinct was low, and even a few
ballots would skew the count.

As we know, in Iowa it was quite a delay before we
could get precinct results from the caucus. I am
unsure as to how promptly Colorado will release
precinct results, or even IF they will.

With 21 states holding Republican primaries, caucuses, conventions, or direct delegate elections today, there are a lot of numbers to keep track of. Here's a quick summary of Ron Paul's results so far, with percentage of the vote and total votes earned so far. I will update this later as more results come in.

10% -- West Virginia: 118 votes (100%)
8% -- Colorado: 4,670 votes (95%)

Primary States (% reporting)

7% -- New York: 38,871 (99%)
6% -- Tennessee: 30,730 (100%)
5% -- Illinois: 44,531 (97%)

5% -- Arkansas: 10,128 votes (95%)
4% -- California: 98,525 votes (99%)

3% -- Massachusetts: 13,210 (100%)
3% -- Oklahoma: 11,179 (100%)
3% -- Utah: 8,295 (99%)

Ron Paul is running in fourth place pretty much across the board, but earned a solid second place in Montana, and edged out Huckabee for third place in North Dakota and in Utah. He also beat John McCain for third place in Alaska.

Ron Paul appears to be picking up a few national delegates in Alaska, North Dakota, and Minnesota, and reportedly cut a deal with Huckabee in West Virginia to earn three more. Despite the strong showing in Montana, all of its delegates go to the state winner, Mitt Romney. CNN is estimating that Ron Paul picked up 5 delegates in Alaska and 5 in North Dakota, but shows Romney winning all of the delegates in Minnesota, even though the presidential preference straw poll there was non-binding.

Ron Paul Secures Three Delegates in West Virginia State Convention

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 5, 2008

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – In today’s West Virginia Republican State Convention, Republican candidate Ron Paul’s campaign secured three of the 18 national delegates up for grabs.

“Our goal is to secure as many delegates to the national GOP convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul as possible,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign manager Lew Moore. “Securing three delegates in West Virginia is an important step in that direction. We plan on locking up more delegates before the day ends.”

In an agreement first reported by West Virginia television station WSAZ, the three Ron Paul delegates were secured through an agreement with the Mike Huckabee campaign.

Ron Paul delegates to the state convention swung their support to Huckabee – putting Huckabee over the top – after Congressman Paul was eliminated in the first round of voting. With three national delegates, Ron Paul secured 17 percent of the 18 delegates that were decided at the State Convention.

Paul Beat McCain in Maine

Ron Paul Beats McCain in Maine Caucus, Primed to Win Over 1/3 of State Delegates

In the race for delegates, Ron Paul appears to closely trail Romney for first place

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 4, 2008

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – While most reports about this past weekend’s Maine Caucus focused on the purely symbolic presidential preference poll, in the meaningful race to secure delegates to the state convention Ron Paul is primed to finish second with likely 35 percent of the total delegates.

Delegates to the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis are elected by the state delegates.  Internal results from 10 of 16 counties, including the largest cities of Portland, South Portland, Lewiston, Auburn, Augusta, Waterville, Bangor, and Brewer, show Ron Paul picking up 215 of 608 State Convention delegates so far reported, or 35%.

“Ron Paul’s strong second place finish in Maine, in which he beat John McCain, is proof that this race is far from over,” said Ron Paul campaign manager Lew Moore.  “We’ll continue to battle for every delegate in this wide-open race for the Republican nomination.”

In the presidential preference poll, with 70 percent reporting, Ron Paul is in third place just two percentage points behind John McCain.  However, the Maine preference poll is purely a beauty contest, and in the actual election of state delegates the so-called “frontrunner” McCain is far behind Ron Paul.
